Synopsis: With the collaboration of: Sergio Giral/ Samuel Claxton, Miguel Navarro, Roberto Blanco, Miguel Gutierrez, Raul Pomares, Adolfo Llaraudo. In Cuba, during the colonial period, the slaves that ran to the hills were called "cimarrones" and established themselves in communities known as "palenques". Maluala was the chief palenque in the oriental region of the country. The film demonstrates how the colonial power, with the impossibility to defeat the underdog, opted to make pacts and form a division among the rebels. When they realized they were cheated, the cimarrones start the fight against the spanish army. They were sent to persecute and defeat the spanish army organized by the men that were led by Maluala.
