With the collaboration of: Fernando Perez/ Laura de la Uz, Raul Paz, Martha del Rio, Herminia Sanchez, Jose Antonio Rodriguez, Micheline Calvert, Caridad Hernandez, Enrique Molina, Maria Isabel Diaz, Ana Gloria Buduen, Yanara Moreno, Wendy Guerra, Carlos Manuel Barco, Nestor Rivero, Maria Elena Espinosa, Diosdado Tarajano, Roberto Delgado, Pedro Regueiferos, Manuel Angel Daranas, Armano Leon/ Larita, neighbor to Ernest Hemingway in Havana in 1956 is humble young lady that fights to finish high school, to enter the University. She has picked up a copy of "The Old Man and the Sea" and within her intimacy is making a parallel between the story of the old fisherman Santiago and her own life. The movie is full of the spirit of the Hemingway play in its most universal form; the man in his struggle to reach the dream that is further than his possibilities, can be destroyed but never overcome. Music by Edesio Alejandro. Photography by Julio Valdes. Sensible argument by Mayra Royero, that also took credit for writing. A young girl dreams with achieving a scholarship,in the North (the United States) to study high school, back in 1958. Laura de la Uz is brilliant in her role of Hilaria, poor neighbor of the writer Ernest Hemingway, who, for years lived temporarily in a beautiful mansion in the small town of San Francisco de Paula, a few minutes away from the cuban capital. Young Paz stands out because of his witty mind as "the boy friend", the same as the experimented actress Herminia Sanchez in her role as "the aunt". Great photography by Julio Valdes and written delicately by Edesio Alejandro. Edited by Jorge Abello. Produced by Ricardo Avila. The scene becomes very emotional where a student meeting evolves against the government of Batista. Hello, Hemingway, because of the contagious romantic essence is a singular film inside the panorama of cuban films.
