Title: The Mafia in Havana. (80 minutos)
Synopsis: This is a great documentary about the pre-Castro Cuba full of vintage archive footage. Through direct testimony of croupiers, bodyguards, revolutionary fighters, high ranking leaders, before and after the revolution, besides the vigilant eye of some musicians, privileged observers of the night life of the times, we approach people as mythical and sinister as: "Lucky" Luciano, Santos Traficante and specially Meyer Lansky, so strongly attached to the pre-revolutionary government. Thanks to other testimonies, not less valuable, we discover what the north american mafia was capable of, in their intents of not losing the "Empire in Havana". This excellent long range documentary, taken mostly from images in the archives, in many cases unedited, contribute to reaffirm the historic memory of a time that marked a corner stone in Havana. Directed by Ana Diez.
